Frequently Asked Questions
After your trial ends you can continue using the KDS by choosing one of two options: a one-time payment of $599 NZD for single-screen locations, or an ongoing subscription of $12 NZD/month per screen for any number of screens. Multi-screen locations must use the monthly plan. If you don't choose a plan your KDS will stop receiving orders until you subscribe.
Yes. You can upgrade to a full mypreorder plan at any time. Your KDS setup, devices, and configuration will carry over — no need to start from scratch.
Essentials gives you the Kitchen Display System with Virtual Printer mode — ideal if you already have a POS and just need a kitchen display. With Online Ordering gives you the full mypreorder platform including your own online store, payment processing, customer apps, and the KDS.
Virtual Printer works with any POS that prints to a Star or Epson network printer, including Lightspeed, Loyverse, and Uniwell. Square POS is not yet supported.

No. Your 30-day trial starts when we set up your account — no credit card required.
To set up a screen, and when you add staff, change a PIN or a printer, or send a support report. Orders from your POS never depend on it: if the connection drops, they keep arriving, the board keeps working and staff can still sign in. Multi-screen setups need it to keep their screens in sync, and With Online Ordering needs it for online orders to arrive. The KDS is under active development, and app updates bring new features and fixes, so keeping it online is recommended.
